Electroanalysis with a single microbead of phosphate binding resin (FerrIX™) mounted in epoxy film

Abstract Commercial resin microbeads are widely applied in ion exchange and extraction. Here, a single anion-selective phosphate binding microbead (FerrIX™) is mounted into an epoxy membrane investigated by 4-electrode voltammetry impedance spectroscopy. Anion transport properties observed to dominate associated with three distinct potential domains: (I) low bias ohmic domain (dominant at high electrolyte concentration), (II) concentration polarisation domain, (III) over-limiting domain. Voltammetric responses show transient diffusion-migration features higher scan rates quasi-steady state lower rates. Inherent conductivity shown be linked two resistive elements, dependent independent, series. The effects of revealed as pattern spectroscopy data. Preliminary data suggest concentration-dependent peak the imaginary versus frequency plot due microbead. Graphical abstract
